Abstract: While progressing towards a decarbonised energy system, the large-scale adoption of electric vehicles, air source heat pumps, and distributed generation will bring both challenges and opportunities to network operators. Some of these new technologies are characterised by limited temporal-availability, therefore it will be crucial to plan in advance their operations. AI Planning is a branch of Artificial Intelligence that studies how to devise a sequence of actions to obtain some goals, starting from a defined initial state. We explore the use of AI Planning for the voltage control problem when control devices are subject to temporal constraints and we show its benefits over standard reactive approaches.

Snacks and refreshments will be provided. Hope to see you there!
